River Gardens offer a safe, comfortable, relaxing atmosphere where you can come to rest, and fine serenity while still having access to activities at Ball State University or within the community of Muncie, Indiana.
We welcome travelers on business, visiting family and friends, or students or faculty at Ball State University. We offer a more personal experience than a traditional hotel but with services like wireless Internet and a fax machine when you have to bring your work with you.
We also invite you to visit for a romantic get-away, your honeymoon, birthday, anniversary, or just an excuse to create a special occasion.
River Gardens B&B is located along the White river on three landscaped acres that feature perennial and herb gardens, a prairie, an orchard, and raised beds for vegetable gardens. You are welcome to wander or meditate by the river or in the gardens. The hosts are warm and inviting making the experience memorable and a home away from home.
Guest Rooms:
We offer two comfortable bedrooms for your pleasure - the River Room and the Garden Room. Each has its own private bathroom and are furnished with luxurious double beds. Both rooms offer excellent views of the river and the back gardens.
- The River
Room is decorated with blue and green and has a boating
motif. In that room, the bathroom is attached as a suite. The view entails
the river, the wooded flood plain, and the kitchen/herb garden. The
flow of the river rustles through an open window.
- The Garden Room is eggshell and violet with a violet bathroom a few steps across the hall. It is decorated with paintings of cranberries. The view overlooks the riverside perennial garden, the raised vegetable beds, and the grape arbor. Blooming trees add to this enchanting perspective.
- River Room - $95 + tax
- Garden Room - $85 + tax
Room Rates: (Tax = 6% state sales tax and 5% county innkeepers tax)
Business traveler rates available for 3 or more night stays.
State employee travel rate available.
Breakfast served from
7 a.m. - 9 a.m.
Check in at 3 p.m. and Check out at 11 a.m.
Bicycles welcome.
No pets please, they
may not get along with our dog (Amber) and cat (Poofie).
No smoking inside the Bed and Breakfast, smoking on the property allowed.

Other spaces for you to enjoy include:
- The Breakfast and
Sitting Room provides a restful space for lounging and for
breakfast in the morning. Visitors are welcome to use the mini-bar with
refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, icemaker and small hand sink.
The décor is knotty pine and off-white Berber carpeting. At the
far end of this room is a seating area with loveseat, chair, lounge,
lamp, and television/DVD/VCR system. This space is for the guests to
relax at the end of the day or to lounge in.
- The Three-Season Sunroom is also available to guests, weather permitting. The room is decorated in pink with lacy curtains and wicker furniture. It provides excellent opportunities to watch the river and the birds.
